Solar PV modules will still produce power on cloudy days. They accept both direct and indirect sunlight.  Today's MPPT solar inverters respond immediately to passing clouds and changing irradiance conditions, so all the available light is converted into power.  We use advanced climate and weather simulation software to estimate a system's average yearly consumption.
